Zenaida is a registered nurse with over 19 years of extensive experience specializing in pediatrics, infectious diseases, neurology, and adult internal medicine. She has become a passionate advocate for individuals struggling with addiction, mental health disorders, and adverse childhood traumas. In addition, Zenaida remains an influential nursing instructor with over 17 years of experience in academia and clinical education. She has received numerous prestigious awards recognizing her excellence in teaching.
Zenaida's journey in healthcare has been driven by a deep passion for holistic health, emphasizing overall wellness and vitality rather than simply addressing symptoms with temporary solutions. She is known for her unwavering commitment to being a steady presence and in supporting patients on their unique journey to health and wellness. At the heart of her approach is a focus on empathy, compassion, and empowerment. As she continues to care for patients in an evolving health landscape, Zenaida is dedicated and committed to helping patients thrive through different modalities to support their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Andrea Michenka, Family Nurse Practitioner | Clinical Director
Andrea Michenka is the founder and lead Nurse Practitioner of the family practice at Anara Wellness Group. She established this practice with a vision of delivering compassionate, relationship-based healthcare that supports individuals and families in achieving lasting health and wellbeing.
Andrea’s practice is built on her belief that healthcare can be delivered in a more thoughtful and integrative way—one that prioritizes prevention, meaningful connections with patients, and whole-person wellness. Through her work at Anara Wellness Group, Andrea has created a space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered to build lasting health in partnership with their primary care provider.
Practice Philosophy
Andrea believes healthcare should extend beyond treating illness. Her philosophy centers on integrative, relationship-based care that considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, lifestyle, and environment. By focusing on prevention, thoughtful management of health conditions, and understanding each patient’s unique goals and circumstances, Andrea works collaboratively with patients to build resilience, restore balance, and support long-term wellbeing. Her vision is to create a healthcare experience where individuals feel respected, heard, included, and supported in living their healthiest lives.
Professional Background
Andrea began her healthcare career after completing her Bachelor of Nursing at Mount Royal University. As a Registered Nurse, she developed a broad and diverse clinical background, working in neurology, nephrology and dialysis care, urology, burn care, and cleft palate conditions. She additionally spent ten years in Pediatric Emergency Nursing, where she supported children and families through some of their most critical and challenging moments.
In 2023, Andrea became a Family Nurse Practitioner and transitioned into community and family medicine. She has practiced in primary care settings across Calgary, including The Alex, where she focused on youth and pregnancy health, and at Caleo Health Clinic providing comprehensive across-the-lifespan primary care.
Andrea’s experience across both hospital and community settings has shaped the approach she now brings to the practice she founded at Anara Wellness Group—one grounded in prevention, partnership, and continuity of care.
Kristen Cloutier, RN | Infusion Nurse
With over 13 years of nursing experience, Kristen brings both expertise and compassion to her role at Anara. She began her career in labour and delivery before moving into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, where she still works casually today. For over six years, Kristen also served as a clinical nursing instructor at the University of Calgary and has taught IV insertion skills to medical students at the Alberta Medical Students’ Conference & Retreat.
Her years in acute care gave her a deep appreciation for the urgency of medicine when things go wrong, fueling her passion for preventive and restorative care. At Anara, she loves supporting clients in their healing from the inside out, within a professional and welcoming environment designed for true wellness.
Kristen is recognized for her calm presence, compassion, and ability to put people at ease. She takes time to explain each step of treatment, helping clients feel confident, cared for, and empowered in their wellness journey.
Outside of work, Kristen is a proud mother of two and finds joy in family life. She feels honoured to bring both her experience and her heart for others into every interaction at Anara.
